I love a good fashion show like the next person and when it’s a new season there’s bound to be some fun and classic designs! This year there’s no exception as the old is revived and made new again! This season you can expect street wear trickling up to designers collections with a more recycled approach to designs.
The pandemic has impacted the way designers approach their collections as virtual shows have resurfaced yet again, but I’m hoping this season is the last.
However, they haven’t disappointed us yet, as bold and colorful is the theme of this season. We may be seeing a pause on loungewear and a rise to energetic and hopeful designs.
So if your looking for new additions to your closet here are my findings on this seasons trends!
1. Sweater Vests

School is in session! Preppy looks have been a trend from previous collections, but this season its reconstructed with a shorter version. Its a popular trend to style over shirt dresses or tops. Add some knee high boots to complete the look.
2. Crop Jackets

This 90’s staple is back and ready for another season! Popularized by Versace, cropped jackets are making their mark as designers are pairing it with a matching trouser for a streamlined silhouette. The shape of the jacket will emphasize your waist but can easily be dressed up or down. Opt for an oversized cropped jacket and pair it with a jean and racer back top for a casual look.
3. Oversized Puffer Coats

It’s crossed over to another season as puffer coats get more puffier and longer every season. If your thinking about heading into the mountains soon for ski season a puffer coat is a perfect addition to your ski wear!
4. Head to Toe Denim

Denim is a huge hit this fall and continuing its rise to winter. Accessories to trousers to coats are making waves as influencers and celebrities are adopting the trend. I would opt for a wide leg pant and pair it with a cropped denim jacket and bucket hat for that head to toe denim look.
5. Mini Skirts

Say goodbye to loungewear and hello to mini skirts! Yup, you heard right! This 90’s inspired trend is back and available in classic plaid, tartan fabrics, and even metallics. Mini skirts aren’t just meant to be worn in the summer, mini skirts can be worn with a sweater and your favorite pantyhose and boots this winter.
6. Lady Power Suits

The 80’s power suit era is back and ready for another take as influencers and celebrities have hoped on this trend for some time now. The two piece ensemble has been a hit item this season and can be layered for the winter season. I would opt for an oversized cropped blazer with a paired trouser for a high fashion office wear look.
7. Leather Jacket

Fall and winter can’t be complete without a leather jacket, especially for fall! This season you can expect classic designs and fresher colors. I would opt this look with a knit dress and knee high boots for fall or layer up for the winter.
8. Cut Outs

Don’t put away all your summer trends! Cut outs are here to stay and don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. If you haven’t snagged your self a keyhole top, or cut out dress then update your wardrobe with a modern piece.
9. Y2K

Haven’t you heard Y2K is back! You can blame it on Tik Tok or just a re-curing cycle of trends, whatever the case it’s back with a modern day twist. Distressed denim, crop tops, tie front tops, and beaded jewelry are just few key items spotted this season, but it’s all about having fun and mixing and matching bold colors and silhouettes.
Until next time fashion lovers!
