We all have a style evolution at some point in our lives! It’s a phase in our lives that we are getting rid of or morphing into. Sometimes it can be what we need or be a terrible reminder of what not to wear! This can typically lead into a signature style.
Signature styles don’t have to be iconic outfits like Audrey Hepburn’s little black dress or Carrie Bradshaw’s tutu’s and high end shoes. Everybody has a signature style. It doesn’t have to do with todays trends or wealth. It’s your own personal style that fits you and only you.
Identifying a few key tips can help you find your signature style.
1. Know your body
We’ve all been guilty of buying something that looked good on a mannequin, influencer, or celebrity. Sometimes it may look good on or end up being a catastrophe. Knowing what looks good on you is a key player to feeling good and truly owning your confidence.
2. Style Inspiration
Social media is a huge platform filled with celebrities, models, and influencers that you can connect with and draw inspiration from. Finding key elements from an influencer or celebrity can help you coordinate outfits and get inspired when your feeling uninspired.
3. Identifying your Signature Item
What’s the one item you seem to constantly wear? Is it, red lipstick? Nails? Season shoes? Mine this season was wearing sandals. They coordinate easily with my outfits and are so comfortable.
4. Think about what gets you compliments
Think about the times people have given you compliments. What were you wearing? Was it a cute dress or trendy sandal? Identifying what key items have given you complements can give you a better idea of what has worked for you. This will also be helpful in identifying your own personal style.
5. Identify what’s missing in your closet
Once you’ve identified what your signature look is, take a look at your closet. What’s missing in your closet? What are current items that can be replaced or taken out and be donated? This will allow you to complete your signature look.
At first, it may be difficult to find and embrace your signature look. It’s going to take time and money to fully emerge yourself in your signature style. I’m currently going through my style phase and exploring my personal style. These are just a few tips that are helping me to develop mine. Let me know in the comments if any of these tips helped you out?
