Ladies I, like many others find it difficult to express myself through fashion during the colder season, but it’s certainly not impossible! Understanding the key fundamentals to fashion and styling is what’s going to set you apart from those days that get you in style ruts and believe me I have many!
Say it with me, accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Accessories are your best friend during the colder season and are going to ensure you stay chic just as if you were in the spring/summer time! Here are a few tips to stay on trend during the winter!
1. Experiment with Layering
The key to staying warm during the winter is knowing how to layer and look chic doing it! Adding a lightweight turtleneck under your vest or shirt dress is a common staple. For a more casual and effortless look, trendy puffer coats or wool trench coats are key items to own that casual chic look!
2. Let Your Boots Make A Statement
A must have for the winter! Do you have a great over the knee boot? Show them off with a fabulous slip dress and a paired sweater. Have a comfy new ankle boot your dying to wear? Style them with some distressed jeans and comfy knit sweater. Whatever the case, boots are a great fall and winter essential!
3. Belts
Belt your coats to give them a defined silhouette! During the winter I find myself repeating outfits and wearing the same boring old coats. If your like me, try adding a belt to your trench coat or blazer, it will be as if your wearing a brand new coat!
4. Trendy Scarves
This winter trend is one everyone will be sporting! You can never go wrong with a scarf! These days bold oversized scarves are the way to go! Try pairing it with your trench coat and a matching color bag or shoe!
5. Hats You Love
Hats are my favorite pairing item when I want to dress more casual! They’re also a great added piece to keep you extra warm during those chilly nights! You can never go wrong with a beanie, bucket hat, baseball hat, baker boy hat, or a Beret this season.
6. Fur Baby
Faux fur is the perfect opportunity to be worn during the cold brisk winter. It’s a winter staple and a re-emerging trend that can majorly upgrade your look! Opt the trend this season and pair it with your favorite leather pant and oversized sweater to complete your luxe look!
