Alaska Getaway “23”

JR had an opportunity to go to Alaska for a work trip, and luckily, we had some air miles that we could use! I’ve never been to Alaska, so when the opportunity presented itself, I took it!

Everyone needs a little getaway now and then, even if it’s just for a few days. Even though we were going on a work trip, it was nice to tag along and see something new! We went to three different areas of Alaska; Saldotna, Anchorage, and Juneau.

I documented some of my time there, including a few of my favorite looks! From small towns to stunning views, here’s a recap of our trip;

Saldotna is no different from the small town I grew up in. However, it certainly had its charm. From local boutiques to local cuisine, we saw and tasted what Saldotna had to offer.

During our stay, we went to Addie Camp, a local restaurant that had an interesting twist. We dined in a railway car that had been built into the side of the building! From the food to the service, it was a great place to eat. If you’re looking for a romantic dinner, this is the restaurant to have on your list!

Anchorage was the second stop on our trip. We drove from Saldotna to Anchorage, which was about a two-hour drive. During the ride, we passed through breathtaking views and wildlife walking around. We couldn’t help but stop and take the scenery in! If you decide to drive, there are a lot of off-road ramps where you can stop and grab some photos of the view!

Anchorage has a lot of outdoor activities to do, so, I can imagine during the summertime, you can get some great photos and a great workout in!

I’ve heard many good things about Juneau, and it’s a small quant town! After my visit, I can say the rumors were true. From the scenery to the village, Juneau was my favorite stop on our trip!

However, because we had visited during the off-season, most of the shops closed early. Some shops were even closed or opened later in the day. To avoid this headache, I suggest planning your trip during the summertime; many locals say it’s also the best time to visit!

During our trip, we stopped at Mendenhall Lake, a local tourist find to visit the breathtaking glacier and waterfall. We were stopped by a local, who insisted we see the waterfall. We thought it was a long hike, and we just happened to come across the stop, so we weren’t dressed. However, we took the path she recommended, and in no time, we were there! The view was stunning and a must when visiting Juneau!

Overall, If you’re planning a trip to Alaska, I recommend checking out these cities, especially Junaue! With so many outdoor activities and tourist attractions, you can find something to do!
