Since I can remember, I’ve always been in love with Halloween. From the costumes to savory candy, plus knowing that my culture also celebrates its version of Halloween known as Dia De Los Muertos: what’s not to love? Because of my love for Halloween, it was only right to celebrate once in my life: Dia de los Muertos and word from the grapevine states that the best place to celebrate the holiday is in Oaxaca!
We stayed in Oaxaca for 4 nights and explored the city and the small charming towns. From the food to the people to the celebrations, we enjoyed our trip to the fullest! I documented some of my favorite moments, including my style’ in the hopes of bringing inspiration for your next trip!

Oaxaca, with every turn, had its fair share of tourist activities, especially when you come during Dia De Los Muertos. The festivities, decorative alters, and charming boutiques all-encompassed the holiday and keepsake tokens to remember your time there. With the beautiful traditions Mexico already offers, it was only right to include these traditional aspects in my attire.

Typically, when we go on vacation, JR and I like to research ahead of time and plan some things to do, but this time, we wanted to opt for a more go-with-flow method and book things spontaneously. During one of our walks around this city, we found a tour guide and booked a tour to Monte Albán, which included a Mezcal tour, a Baro tour in Coyotepec, and a taller de Alebrijes in Arrazola. It’s safe to say with so much walking, I wanted to wear something comfortable and opted for a racer-back top with leggings. Considering the hills we walked through, I’m glad I wore something comfortable!

When on vacation, the time to relax and enjoy your time away from the hustle and bustle is non-negotiable! We pampered ourselves and spent our afternoon at the hotel’s spa, and let me tell you, ladies, it was the most relaxing experience I had to date! When in doubt, treat yourself to a pampering session; you won’t regret it!
On your next trip overseas, let it be in Mexico! Soak up the sun, grab some cocktails, and ‘take a tour around the city! Opt for a better experience during Dia De Los Muertos, and you’re sure to find some things to do in every corner! Be careful, though you’ll make your trip to Oaxaca an annual one. Till next time, fashion lovers.
