Before you donate your clothes or sell them on Poshmark, give this pro tip a go! Separate your clothing from items that are most worn vs items that see less use. Whether it’s making a list, physically organizing your wardrobe, or just making a mental note this can help you make the most of your wardrobe and style those non-essential items.
This is a pro trip that can be used if your having a styling rut, its a way to mix and match your clothing and of course make it appear as though your wearing something new!
If you’re having a hard time trying to decipher those items, here are some examples of items that are worn the most in my wardrobe:
- Oversized T-shirts
- Palazzo pants
- Sunglasses
- Chain link necklaces
- Blazers
- Sneakers
Here are examples of items that are worn the least in my wardrobe:
- Heels
- Bodycon dresses
- Earrings
- Rings
- Bracelets
- Skirts
This will look different for everyone as everyone’s style is unique to their personality. All you need to do is take some time out of your day to list those items and put an action plan to style those less desirable pieces and give them a go. This can be uncomfortable territory I know, as we gravitate towards our comfort pieces, but before you let go of those items try them out once more, there was a reason you bought those items in your wardrobe, it’s time to put your money to use!
I hope this tip gave you a fresher perspective to organizing/styling your wardrobe and perhaps saved you from throwing your new favorite items! Let me know in the comments how you organize your wardrobe!
